a. Approve and Authorize the Contracts & Purchasing Officer or designee to execute an Agreement with One Workplace L. Ferrari, LLC, for the purchase of office furniture, office space panel systems, office space reconfiguration services, space design and furniture or office panel systems to reconfigure lobbies and office space for public and staff safety, with a term of July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028 for a total Agreement amount of $4,500,000; and
b. Authorize the Contracts & Purchasing Officer or designee to sign up to three (3) future amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($450,000) of the original contract amount, do not significantly change the scope of work, and do not exceed the maximum aggregate amount of $4,950,000.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and Authorize the Contracts & Purchasing Officer or designee to execute an Agreement with One Workplace L. Ferrari, LLC, for the purchase of office furniture, office space panel systems, office space reconfiguration services, space design and furniture or office panel systems to reconfigure lobbies and office space for public and staff safety, with a term of July 1, 2025 through June 30, 2028 for a total Agreement amount of $4,500,000; and
b. SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County of Monterey Health Department (MCHD) has utilized Steelcase furniture products in its office and clinics for many years, enabling cost-effective reconfiguration at all MCHD locations, and enhancing inventory management. The Steelcase products are durable, and backed by an extensive warranty. Steelcase, Inc. is an approved vendor with the National Joint Powers Alliance (NJPA), and One Workplace is the only local authorized furniture dealer for Steelcase products, located in Monterey County.
Approval of the recommended action will allow One Workplace to provide office furniture, including panel systems, seating, storage, workstations and more, along with delivery, installation, and removal of existing furniture. This supports MCHD’s evolving needs, including reconfiguration, enhancements, and future expansion.
One WorkPlace will pay prevailing wages pursuant to Labor Code 1720 and comply with all applicable requirements.
This work supports the County of Monterey Health Department 2025-2028 Strategic Plan Goal(s): 4. Deepen Organizational Effectiveness and Support Long-Term Sustainability. It also supports one or more of the ten essential public health services, specifically: 8. Assure a competent public and personal health care workforce.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of the County Counsel and the Auditor-Controller have reviewed and approved this Agreement as to legal form and fiscal provisions, respectively.
FINANCING:
There are sufficient appropriations in the Health Department FY 2025-26 Requested Budget. to cover services and products. For the FYs out, provision will be made in the Requested Budget for the appropriate year.
