SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Experian health provides NMC with web based licensed software which is used to submit claims to insurance companies and identify self-pay patients who might have qualified for Medi-Cal reimbursement to the hospital. As part of the billing process, NMC must submit claims within a certain number of days after the patient services have been rendered. This system provides a daily crosscheck of patients to the Medi-Cal system as well as other various insurances. This system with its platform upgrade also provides electronic remittance advices from the insurances, direct access to Medicare claims for checking status of claims, and claim acceptance files from insurances.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and approved this amendment No. 2 as to form, and the Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved as to payment provisions. The amendment No. 2 has also been reviewed and approved by NMC’s Finance Committee and by its Board of Trustees on September 5, 2025.
