Title

a.  Create a committee to address Natividad Medical Center’s Strategic Objectives;

b.  Appoint two (2) members of the Board of Supervisors to the Committee; and,

c.  Authorize the Chair of the Natividad Medical Center Board of Trustees to appoint two (2) members to the Committee.

Report

RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

a.  Approve the formation of the Strategic Initiatives and Healthcare Integration Committee; and

b.  Appoint two (2) Supervisors to the Committee; and,

c.  Authorize the Chair of the Natividad Medical Center Board of Trustees to appoint two (2) members to the Committee.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The recommended actions would create a Strategic Initiatives and Healthcare Integration Committee (Committee) to address Natividad Medical Center (NMC) Strategic Objectives.  As proposed, the Committee would be comprised of two (2) Supervisors selected the Board of Supervisors and two (2) Trustees selected by the Chair NMC Board of Trustees.  The Natividad Chief Executive Officer and County Administrative Officer conferred and recommend the creation of this Committee.   

 

The primary purpose of this Committee is to assist in implementation efforts of select objectives, including, but not limited, to the following:

 

1.                     Grow Clinic Services

2.                     Strengthen Community Outreach & Marketing

3.                     Establish and Strengthen Partnerships and Collaboration

 

It is anticipated that NMC and County staff will coordinate on staffing and resources in order to accomplish the goals and direction of the Committee.  The Strategic Initiatives and Healthcare Integration Committee will be subject to the Ralph M. Brown Act (Govt. Code § 54950 et seq.).

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The Natividad Medical Center concurs with the recommended actions contained in this report

 

FINANCING:

There is no fiscal impact associated with the approval of the recommended actions.  However, following its formation, the Committee may authorize the use of relevant consulting services within NMC Chief Executive Officer and County Administrative Officer budgetary actions.
