RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute the First Amendment to Professional Services Agreement with Jeannine L. Wahl to provide hospitalist services at NMC extending the term of the agreement to June 30, 2014 and adding an additional $1,500 for revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $101,500 in the aggregate for the period July 1, 2012 to June 30, 2014.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On July 1, 2012 NMC entered into an Agreement with Jeannine L. Wahl D.O. to provide hospitalist services at NMC. Dr. Wahl worked slightly more than expected to cover a vacant position in the hospitalists department and the full amount of the agreement was disbursed. NMC wishes to amend the Agreement with Dr. Wahl to increase the maximum liability by $1,500 in order to pay Dr. Wahl for services already provided and to extend the term of the agreement an additional twelve months to comply with state and federal guidelines.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Amendment as to legal form and risk provisions. Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved this Amendment as to fiscal provisions. The Amendment has also been reviewed and approved by Natividad Medical Center's Board of Trustees.
FINANCING:
The total cost for this Agreement is $101,500. $100,000 was disbursed in Fiscal Year 2012/2013; and $1,500 is included in the Fiscal Year 2013/2014 recommended budget. There is no impact to the General Fund.
