RECOMMENDATION:

SUMMARY:
Natividad Medical Center plans to partner with Girls Inc. of the Central Coast to co-host a one week summer program for girls ages 13-16 years from July 13-17, 2026. Girls Inc is a local organization with the credo that they are the preeminent girls’ leadership organization equipping girls to reach their full potential. Natividad Medical Center will provide space and hospital speakers to engage with the girls during the program.
DISCUSSION
Natividad Medical Center proposes to partner with Girls Inc., a local nonprofit organization dedicated to equipping girls in our community with the resources, relationships, and learning opportunities they need to reach their full potential.
Under this partnership, Natividad Medical Center and Girls Inc. will co-host a one week summer program for girls ages 13-16, to be held on the hospital's campus from July 13-17, 2026. The program will offer developmentally appropriate, research-based experiences designed to build tangible life skills while giving participants the opportunity to explore new interests, gain confidence, and develop leadership abilities. The program's primary focus will be health, wellness, and physical empowerment.
The curriculum will be developed by Girls Inc. with input from hospital staff. Several Natividad Medical Center managers will lead hands-on training sessions for participants, covering topics that include, but are not limited to:
• Basic first aid
• Nutrition and healthy eating for teens
• Physical therapy and sports medicine, with an emphasis on rehabilitation and recovery
This partnership will be provided at no cost to either Natividad Medical Center or Girls Inc.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Agreement as to form, and the Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved as to payment provisions.
FINANCING:
There is no cost associated with this Agreement.
