RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Standard Agreement between Tix, Inc. and the County of Monterey to provide a web-based ticket system for WeatherTech® Raceway at Laguna Seca, extending the term through December 31, 2024, for a revised term of January 1, 2022 through December 31, 2024 and increasing the amount not to exceed by $85,000 with an amended not to exceed total of $225,000.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Tix, Inc. (Tix) was awarded a contract effective January 1, 2022, to provide an online and box office ticketing solution that provides WeatherTech® Raceway at Laguna Seca (WRLS) with an easy-to-use ticket sales program including marketing tools to promote future growth. Tix services have allowed the facility to offer online ticket sales and tracking for events at WRLS, and their customer service has been excellent. Both the County and Tix would like to continue the business relationship. All current services provided by Tix will continue with no price increase.
Staff requests the Board of Supervisors to approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute the proposed Amendment No. 1 to extend the Agreement Term through December 31, 2024, for a revised term of January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2024, and increasing the not to exceed sum by $85,000 with an amended not to exceed total of $225,000.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel and Auditor-Controller’s Office reviewed and approved the proposed Agreement as to form and fiscal provisions, respectively.
FINANCING:
The amended cost of the contracted services provided by Tix, Inc. is not to exceed $225,000.00 for the duration of the Agreement. The rest of the fees for the services to be incurred for the remainder of the term is part of the Fiscal Year 2023-2024 adopted budget in Fund 453, Unit 8579, Appropriation Unit PFP067, and will be included in the upcoming budget for Fiscal Year 2024-2025 for Laguna Seca Recreation Area, if needed, pending transition of the WRLS operations to the new Concession Agreement recently approved by the Board of Supervisors.
