It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Contracts & Purchasing Officer or their designee to execute a non-standard Agreement with First Alarm, a California corporation, for the provision of fire alarm system monitoring services and 24-hour intrusion alarm monitoring services at the Marina Clinic located at 3155 DeForest Rd., Marina, for the term retroactive to April 1, 2024, through March 31, 2026, for a total Agreement amount of $10,846.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County of Monterey Health Department has relied on First Alarm for essential security monitoring services for several years. Specifically, the Marina Clinic located at 3155 DeForest Rd., Marina, has been utilizing their Fire Alarm and Intrusion Alarm monitoring systems for over fifteen years, ensuring the safety of the facility and its occupants. The Clinic desires to maintain the same services; however, due to the need for account reconciliation and price adjustments, the presentation of this Agreement to the Board of Supervisors was delayed. To prevent any liability stemming from service interruptions, First Alarm has committed to maintaining uninterrupted services during the finalization of the Agreement's terms.
This work supports the County of Monterey’s Health Department’s 2018-2024 Strategic Plan Goals: 2. Enhance community health and safety through prevention. It also supports the following of the ten essential public health services, specifically: 6. Enforce laws and regulations that protect health and ensure safety.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel and the Auditor-Controller have reviewed and approved the Agreement as to form and fiscal provisions, respectively.
FINANCING:
Appropriations for this Agreement are included in the Health Department’s (4000-HEA007-8592) Fiscal Year (FY) 2024-25 Adopted Budget. For the FYs out, provision will be made in the Requested Budget for the appropriate year.
