RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors authorize the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute Amendment No. 3 to the Agreement (A-11883) with HealthStream Inc. for Web Based Clinical Education Services at NMC, extending the Agreement to June 30, 2014 and adding $21,097.06 for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $407,773.22 in the aggregate.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
HealthStream is a well known online hospital education company that NMC has been working with for several years to provide required education to hospital staff in accordance with The Joint Commission and other state regulations. This amendment will allow NMC to continue with existing services and increase the functionality of the system. The increased functionality will allow NMC access to the competency modules, needed to comply with The Joint Commission standards, as well as the California State Board of Nursing. These modules will allow NMC to select standard competency learning modules and link them to the Lippincott Nursing Practice educational reference material. This will facilitate the implementation of best practice nursing policies throughout the nursing division. No additional services have been provided to date.
Business Automobile Insurance Exemption
Business Automobile Liability Insurance requirements are waived for this vendor under this Agreement. There is no risk or exposure regarding vehicles.
All services are provided electronically. The contractor does not travel onto County property with vehicles
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Amendment No. 3 as to legal form and risk provisions. Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved this Amendment No. 3 as to fiscal provisions. The Amendment No. 3 has also been reviewed and approved by Natividad Medical Center's Board of Trustees.
FINANCING:
The cost for this Amendment No. 3 is $21,097.06. $3, 016 is included in the Fiscal Year 2012/2013 Adopted Budget. $18,081.06 is included in the Fiscal Year 2013/14 Recommended Budget. There is no impact to the General Fund.
