SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Commission is recommending that the Board of Supervisors approve ten (10) Fish and Game Propagation Fund grant projects for Fiscal Year 2015-16.  This action is consistent with Board Resolution 81-239, which states that all expenditures using County Fish and Game Propagation funds must be approved by the Board of Supervisors.

The ten (10) grant applications were legally noticed in the Monterey Herald newspaper on December 13th and 27th, 2015 and January 3rd, 2016, and legally placed on the Monterey County Fish and Game Advisory Commission's agenda for consideration on February 9, 2016.  A copy of the relevant portion of the draft minutes from the February 9, 2016 meeting is attached hereto regarding the presentations, discussions and Commission’s action on the applications.  All grant proposals were reviewed for consistency with California State Fish and Game Code criteria for distribution of Propagation Fund grant monies.  Each applicant has agreed to the terms and conditions of the grant agreement for use of Fish and Game Propagation Funds.  By majority vote, the Commission recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve the following grants in the amounts shown below:
