SUMMARY/ DISCUSSION
Keeping fire suppression systems in good working order and performing all required inspections is critical to public and staff safety in County owned buildings and facilities. Under this Agreement, A & B Fire provides specialized fire pump testing and calibration, water system pressure analysis, 24/7 on-call emergency service, maintenance and repairs and other services as needed by the County.
The Agreement for fire sprinkler suppression system services was awarded in December 2019 after a competitive solicitation process. The Agreement was subsequently amended to extend the term through December 1, 2023 and increase the not exceed amount to $615,310. The proposed amendments would allow staff to maintain required fire suppression services and ensure staff and public safety for the next several years. The not to exceed amount is increased to cover potential emergency repairs and reduce the need for Emergency Purchase Orders. Regular inspection services are not expected to use the entire Not to Exceed amount.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of the County Counsel has reviewed and approved Amendment No. 3 as to form. The Auditor-Controller’s Office has reviewed proposed Amendment No. 3 as to fiscal provisions.

For Public Works, Facilities and Parks, funding is held within the approved budget allocations for General Fund, 001 Facility Services Appropriation Unit PFP054. The proposed not to exceed amount of $615,310 for Agreement No. A-14567 is intended to allow services to continue in future fiscal years.
