a. Authorize the Auditor-Controller to amend the Fiscal Year 2021-22 Adopted Budget to increase appropriations and estimated revenues by $18,887 for the Office of the District Attorney, Fund 001, Appropriation Unit DIS001, financed by the receipt of JAG funds from the City of Salinas, in the amount of $18,887 (4/5ths vote required);
b. Authorize the adoption of a resolution, authorizing the County Administrative Officer or his designee to sign a Memorandum of Agreement and all related documentation on behalf of the County for the JAG grant application with the City of Salinas, subject to review and approval by County Counsel.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Auditor-Controller to amend the Fiscal Year 2021-22 Adopted Budget to increase appropriations and estimated revenues by $18,887 for the Office of the District Attorney, Fund 001, Appropriation Unit DIS001, financed by the receipt of JAG funds from the City of Salinas, in the amount of $18,887 (4/5ths vote required);
b. Authorize the adoption of a resolution, authorizing the County Administrative Officer or his designee to sign a Memorandum of Agreement and all related documentation on behalf of the County for the JAG grant application with the City of Salinas, subject to review and approval by County Counsel.
SUMMARY:
The Board of Supervisors annually authorizes either the Office of the District Attorney (DA) or the Sheriff’s Office to submit and execute a joint grant application with the City of Salinas to the Federal Government under the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG) Program. For FY 2021-22 in the amount of $18,887, for the County share of the grant, the DA requests to purchase investigative equipment. Due to delays in receiving grant documents from the City of Salinas, this request is now submitted.
DISCUSSION:
The DA requests the Board authorize the Auditor-Controller to make the necessary changes to the FY 2021-22 Adopted Budget and for the County Administrator to sign the MOU with the City of Salinas.

FINANCING:
Funds are being provided by the City of Salinas, as the fiscal agent for the 2021 JAG Grant. This action would increase appropriations and revenues by $18,887 for the Office of the District Attorney, Fund 001, Appropriation Unit DIS001, for the purchase of investigative equipment. There will be no impact to the General Fund Contribution.
