a. Approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute a Standard Agreement between Cox & Young Ventures LLC dba Events by Classic Group and the County of Monterey for catering services for WeatherTech® Raceway at Laguna Seca with a term beginning March 1, 2023, through December 31, 2024, for an amount not to exceed of $500,000;
b. Approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute up to three (3) future amendments to the Standard Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10%, or $50,000 of the agreement amount and do not significantly change the scope of work, subject to County Counsel approval. Whereas the total aggregate amount of this agreement will not exceed $650,00.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute a Standard Agreement between Cox & Young Ventures LLC dba Events by Classic Group and the County of Monterey for catering services for WeatherTech® Raceway at Laguna Seca with a term beginning March 1, 2023, through December 31, 2024, for an amount not to exceed of $500,000;
b. Approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute up to three (3) future amendments to the Standard Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed ten percent (10%), or $50,000, of the agreement amount and do not significantly change the scope of work, subject to County Counsel approval. Whereas the total aggregate amount of this agreement will not exceed $650,00.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Cox & Young Ventures LLC dba Events by Classic Group (Events by Classic) has been providing exceptional food and service to its clients in Monterey and surrounding areas since 2002. Whether it be at one of their three local event venues or offsite, they strive to provide their clients with exceptional service and hospitality and create memories to last a lifetime. Events by Classic has been providing catering services to corporate and individual hospitality suites at WeatherTech Raceway at Laguna Seca (WRLS) for the past several years, serving as one of the primary caterers to provide hospitality suites during hosted events at the raceway.
Staff requests the Board of Supervisors to approve and authorize the Monterey County Laguna Seca Representative to execute the proposed Agreement with Cox & Young Ventures LLC dba Events by Classic Group and to execute up to three future amendments to the Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed ten percent (10%), or $50,000, of the agreement amount.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Office of County Counsel and Auditor-Controller’s Office reviewed and approved the proposed Agreement as to form and fiscal provisions, respectively. The office of Risk Management reviewed and approved the insurance coverage and limits.
FINANCING:
The cost of the contracted services provided by Cox & Young Ventures LLC dba Events by Classic Group is not to exceed $500,000 for the duration of the Agreement.
There is sufficient funding in the Fiscal Year 2022-2023 Adopted Budget, LSRA Fund 453, Appropriation Unit PFP067. Future recommended budgets will include appropriations for this Agreement.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
The recommended action supports the Board of Supervisors Strategic Initiatives for Economic Development by utilizing a local vendor to provide services at the facility which will give visitors exposure to other fine dining opportunities and event venues in the local area.
