a. Approves the Area Agency on Aging 2006-2007
Area Plan Update; and
b. Authorizes the Chair to sign the Area Plan
Update Transmittal letter.
Upon motion of Supervisor Calcagno seconded by Supervisor Lindley, and carried by those
members present, effective May 9, 2006, the Board hereby;
a. Approves the Area Agency on Aging 2006-2007 Area Plan Update; and
b. Authorizes the Chair to sign the Area Plan Update Transmittal letter.
PASSED AND ADOPTED this 9th day of May, 2006, by the following vote, to-wit:

RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors
a. Approve the Area Agency on Aging 2006-2007 Area Plan Update, and
b. authorize the Chair to sign the Area Plan Update Transmittal Letter
SUMMARY:
The 2006-2007 Area Plan Update complies with federal and state requirements to annually
update the 2005-2009 Four Year Area Plan. The Board adopted the four-year area plan a year
ago on June 7, 2005.
DISCUSSION:
Together, the four-year area plan and its annual updates, provides guidance and direction to the
Area Agency on Aging for the planning and development of services for seniors and adults with
disabilities in Monterey County.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Area Agency on Aging Advisory Council approved the 06-07 Area Plan Update on April 20,
2006. The plan was also reviewed by County Counsel.
FINANCING:
There is no impact upon the County General Fund
