RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

 

Authorize the Registrar of Voters to consolidate and provide specified election services for the January 3, 2023, San Ardo Union Elementary School District Special Election.

 

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Division 10 of the California Elections Code provides that a city or district may, by resolution, request that the Board of Supervisors authorize the Registrar of Voters to provide the jurisdiction with election services.

 

Resolution No. 22/23-03 was passed by the San Ardo Union Elementary School District on December 1, 2022 giving notice of holding an election on January 3, 2023 and requesting that the County Registrar of Voters provide election services. A copy of the District’s Resolution No. 22/23-03 is attached as Exhibit A. The resolution is also on file with the Clerk of the Board.

 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

The San Ardo Union Elementary School adopted Resolution No. 22/23-03 requesting that the Registrar of Voters provide election services for the January 3, 2023 election. County Counsel has reviewed and approved the recommendation.

 

FINANCING:

The associated expenditures and reimbursement from San Ardo Union Elementary School District are included in the FY 22-23 Adopted Budget. There will be no additional cost to the County General Fund associated with this recommendation.
