RECOMMENDATION:
 
It is recommended the Board of Supervisors authorize the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute Renewal and Amendment No. 2 to the Agreement (A-12241) with San Jose Boiler Works for Preventative Maintenance Services for Steam, Domestic Hot Water, Heating Boilers and Boiler Parts at NMC, extending the Agreement to June 30, 2014 for a total Agreement amount not to exceed $175,000 (no change from previously approved amount) in the aggregate.
 
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
 
San Jose Boiler specializes in preventive maintenance, inspection, and repair service on steam boilers, hot water boilers, and heating systems. These systems and components are vital to patient care at NMC and are regulated and audited by The Joint Commission and the state of California through Title 8, Title 22, and Title 24.
 
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
 
County Counsel has reviewed and approved this Renewal and Amendment No. 2 as to legal form and risk provisions.  Auditor-Controller has reviewed and approved this Renewal and Amendment No. 2 as to fiscal provisions.  The Renewal and Amendment No. 2 has also been reviewed and approved by Natividad Medical Center's Board of Trustees.
 
FINANCING:
 
As a result of Amendment No. 1, the Board of Supervisors approved a $75,000 increase for Fiscal Year 2012-2013 in the maximum liability for the Agreement (for a total Agreement amount not to exceed $175,000 in the aggregate). As a result of this Renewal and Amendment No. 2, no additional dollars will be added. Remaining funds from the previous year's purchase orders (approximately $105,000) will be rolled over for Fiscal Years 2013/14. $105,000 is included in the 2013/2014 Fiscal Year Adopted Budget. There is no impact to the General Fund.
