SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Information Technology (IT) Department is charged with protecting the confidentiality of the County’s network information. To effectively explore technological options available to the County and to plan and complete various projects, the County must occasionally release information of a confidential nature to vendors possessing the expertise needed by the County.
The IT Department is currently working on various projects to ensure the continuing functionality of the County’s microwave network and infrastructure. In order to proceed with these efforts, the IT Department needs to consult with outside vendors, which involves disclosure of confidential network information.
To safeguard County IT information that is shared with these companies, the IT Department has asked that they enter into a Vendor Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement, which Alpha Omega Wireless, Aviat U.S., Incorporated, Black & Veatch Corporation, Federal Engineering, Incorporated, and IP Keys Technologies, LLC have agreed to. Alcatel-Lucent USA Incorporated, has agreed to signing a Mutual Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement, in which both the County and Alcatel-Lucent agree to safeguard each other’s confidential information regarding microwave network infrastructure requirements.
Accordingly, it is recommended that the Board approve and authorize the Interim Director of IT to execute the attached Vendor Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreements with Alpha Omega Wireless, Aviat U.S., Incorporated, Black & Veatch Corporation, Federal Engineering, Incorporated, and IP Keys Technologies, LLC and a Mutual Non-Disclosure and Confidentiality Agreement with Alcatel-Lucent USA Incorporated.
