a. Approve and authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign Amendment No. 2 with Peacock Acres, Inc. for the provision of youth transitional housing services, adding $112,500 for a new contract total of $1,048,695 and extending the contract term to October 31, 2022; and
b. Authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($104,869) of the revised contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign Amendment No. 2 with Peacock Acres, Inc. for the provision of youth transitional housing services, adding $112,500 for a new contract total of $1,048,695 and extending the contract term to October 31, 2022; and
b. Authorize the Director or Assistant Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($104,869) of the revised contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This Amendment extends the current contract with Peacock Acres for the provision of Transitional Housing Placement-PLUS (THP+) services for former foster youth. The Department of Social Services issued a Request for Proposals (RFP#10822) in January 2022. As a result of the RFP, a new contractor, Unity Care was selected. Peacock Acres currently has 9 youth participating in the THP+ program. This extension will allow Peacock Acres, Inc. to continue providing THP+ housing and services to their current residents through October 31, 2022 while they can be transitioned to the new Unity Care program.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Auditor-Controller and Purchasing have reviewed and approved this Agreement. County Counsel has approved the Agreement as to form.
FINANCING:
This agreement is funded by Social Services Realignment revenues of $820,500 and Department of Housing and Community Development Transitional Housing Program funds of $228,195. Sufficient appropriations and estimated revenues in the Out of Home Care 001-5010-SOC001 are included in the FY 2021-22 Adopted Budget and the FY 2022-23 Recommended Budget.
BOARD OF SUPERVISORS STRATEGIC INITIATIVES:
This agreement correlates to the Health & Human Services Initiative adopted by the Board of Supervisors by providing Housing and Supportive Services for high-need former foster youth.
