RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:
a. Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute an agreement with California Department Public Health (CDPH) to participate in a sponsored bed capacity tracking pilot project services at NMC with a no cost to the agreement and agreement term June 22, 2024, through June 21, 2029 and;

b. Approve the NMC's Chief Executive Officer's recommendation to accept non-standard indemnification, insurance, limitations on liability, and limitations on damages provisions within the agreement.


SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The hospital bed capacity pilot project is a California Department of Public Health statewide grant-funded initiative that will provide Natividad Medical Center and participating California hospitals with a secure electronic real-time bed availability and capacity dashboard. With the data that this system will provide, the hospital will be able to reduce patient transfer times by being able to quickly identify other facilities with available capacity without the need to make numerous phone calls. Access to accurate real-time information will also be of real value during mass casualty or medical surge events.
