RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer to increase the County Master Agreement with Manpower Inc./California Peninsula, Robert Half International, Inc., Spherion Staffing LLC, and Select Staffing for the provision of temporary staffing services for the County of Monterey by the total annual amount of $1,500,000 for an aggregate annual amount of $3,500,000 for all Agreements on an as-needed basis.

SUMMARY/ DISCUSSION:

The annual increase of $1,500,000 to the Master Agreement RFP #10129 will assist Natividad Medical Center (NMC) in meeting its labor needs by utilizing employees from temporary staffing agencies to ensure that NMC can continue to provide quality customer service to its clients.
This increase will allow the Natividad Medical Center to provide coverage for its staffing needs in critical areas. Temporary staff assignments will provide coverage for NMC staff vacations, family medical leaves of absence, workers compensation injury leaves of absence, and other long term leaves of absence, as well as an increase in patient census or staff vacancies. Approval of this request will allow NMC to continue to provide quality customer service to its patients, and to meet the needs of the community at all times.
