RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or designee to sign Amendment No. 2 with Deidre Rogers-Smallman, dba Ergovera for ergonomic services increasing the amount by $100,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $300,000.00 and set to expire on December 31, 2024.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The County of Monterey Ergonomics Process is vital to the prevention and management of work injuries at the County. The Ergonomics Process was fully implemented in 2009 and has provided preventative ergonomic evaluations, reducing the risk of injury and illness of County employees.

The County entered into the original agreement with Ergovera for ergonomic services beginning January 1, 2022, through December 31, 2024, in an amount not to exceed $100,000.00.

Amendment No. 1 to the original agreement increased the amount by $100,000.00 for a total amount not to exceed $200,000.00.

The proposed Amendment No. 2 will increase the agreement by $100,000.00 for an amount not to exceed $300,000.00 and is set to expire on December 31, 2024.

Risk Management plans to initiate a new RFP for ergonomic services in 2024.

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
Amendment No. 2 has been reviewed and approved by County Counsel as to legal form; the Auditor-Controller as to fiscal terms; and County Counsel/Risk Management for insurance and indemnity provisions.

FINANCING:
Funding for this professional services agreement is provided from the Workers Compensation Internal Service Fund 476.
