RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Set the hearing to consider the appeal by the Carmel Valley Ranch of Transient Occupancy Tax Penalty on Tuesday, June 25, 2013 at 1:30 p.m. or as soon thereafter as the matter may be heard, at the Monterey County Government Center Board Chamber, 168 W. Alisal St., 1st Floor, Salinas, California.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Pursuant to Monterey County Code section 5.40.130, the Board of Supervisors received an appeal from Carmel Valley Ranch on the decision of the Monterey County Tax Collector denying their administrative appeal of the imposition of a Transient Occupancy Tax late payment penalty. Consistent with the Monterey County Code, the Board of Supervisors shall fix a time and place for hearing of such an appeal. After consultation with the Applicant's attorney and the Treasurer-Tax Collector, this date has been selected for the hearing of the appeal.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Treasurer-Tax Collector and County Counsel concur with this recommendation.
FINANCING:
There are no financing issues related to the recommended action.
