Report
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the County of Monterey, Health Department to submit grant applications and any necessary documents required to the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) retroactive to February 12, 2025;
b. Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee as the Signature Authority to execute all documents; and
c. Adopt a Resolution authorizing the County of Monterey, Health Department to submit grant applications and any necessary documents required to the California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle).

SUMMARY:
California Department of Resources Recycling and Recovery (CalRecycle) offers grant opportunities to fund Environmental Health Programs including the Beverage Container Recycling Program, the City/County Payment Program, the Local Enforcement Agency (LEA) program, the Used Oil Payment Program, and the Waste Tire Enforcement program. CalRecycle provides these funding opportunities to help cover program costs such as personnel, training, and equipment procurement.
