RECOMMENDATION:

It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
Adopt a Resolution to approve amendments to the Conflict of Interest Code of the County of Monterey Health Department.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

The Political Reform Act of 1974 (Government Code sections 81000, et. seq.), requires state and local government agencies to adopt Conflict of Interest codes and periodically review and amend any changes to this code. On May 21, 2019, the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors, as the code reviewing body, approved the most recent amendment to the County of Monterey Health Department Conflict of Interest Code. Since 2019, numerous position and title changes have occurred, thus the need to amend the code to accurately reflect the current designated positions and titles of these designated positions. Red-lined and clean copies of the proposed amended Conflict of Interest Code are attached for the Board’s review and approval. 

OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:

County Counsel has reviewed and approved the amended Code as to form.  

FINANCING:

There would be no financial impact to the County by the Board’s approval of the proposed amendment.
