a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to sign an agreement with The Social Changery to provide opioid education materials to increase awareness of opioid-related harms and participate in the Substance Use Education Decoded Campaign for the period of upon execution to June 30, 2029 in the amount of $450,000; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Director of Health Services or designee to sign up to three amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($45,000) of the amended contract amount, do not significantly change the scope of work, and do not exceed the maximum aggregate amount of $495,000.

It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to sign an agreement with The Social Changery to provide opioid education materials to increase awareness of opioid-related harms and participate in the Substance Use Education Decoded Campaign for the period of upon execution to June 30, 2029 in the amount of $450,000; and

SUMMARY:
The Health Department will partner with The Social Changery to build upon Monterey County’s existing opioid prevention and harm reduction initiatives. The opioid education campaign will focus on youth and young adults while expanding outreach to parents, caregivers, and broader community stakeholders to strengthen awareness, prevention, and community engagement efforts.
