Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute a no-extension Amendment No. 1 to Mental Health Services Agreement A-12686 with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. for the provision of mental health services to Monterey County adult residents with severe psychiatric disabilities in the increased amount of $1,250,398 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-16, and $1,362,854 for FY 2016-17 (a 26.7% increase over the original Agreement) for a new total Agreement amount of $3,545,999 for the same full term of FY 2014-15 through FY 2016-17.

It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute a no-extension Amendment No. 1 to Mental Health Services Agreement A-12686 with Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. for the provision of mental health services to Monterey County adult residents with severe psychiatric disabilities in the increased amount of $1,250,398 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-16, and $1,362,854 for FY 2016-17 (a 26.7% increase over the original Agreement) for a new total Agreement amount of $3,545,999 for the same full term of FY 2014-15 through FY 2016-17.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Crestwood Behavioral Health, Inc. has provided mental health services for approximately 12 years, and for 30 years prior under the previous corporate umbrella of Crestwood Hospitals. Crestwood has 18 California facilities ranging in size from 12 to nearly 200 beds, seven of which are covered under the terms of this Agreement. Crestwood's programs provide recovery oriented psychiatric services to adults, older adults, and transition-aged youth with severe and persistent mental health illnesses. Crestwood provides intensive treatment programs with a high level of security and education to assist clients to live independently.
