Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and Authorize the Director of the Emergency Communications Department to sign no cost Volume Licensing Agreement V4697871 with Microsoft Corporation, Inc. for Software Assurance, effective when accepted by Microsoft Corporation, Inc. and continuing for a term of 36 months where payments for this product are made to 3rd party reseller eGroup Enabling Technologies, Inc. through a previously approved agreement; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Emergency Communications Department to sign up to three amendments to this agreement where the amendments do not add any financial obligations, do not significantly change the scope of the provided services, and do not result in a total agreement term of greater than six years.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Emergency Communications Department (ECD) is a consolidated public safety answer point and dispatch facility serving 28 law enforcement, fire protection, and emergency medical services (EMS) response agencies throughout Monterey County. Calls for service are dispatched through the ECD's Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) system.
