RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution to ratify the Proclamation of a Local Emergency issued by the County Administrative on January 27, 2022, related to the Colorado Fire within Monterey County
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Ratification of this emergency proclamation will assist the response and recovery efforts and authorize the Director of Emergency Services to act as necessary and appropriate under Chapter 2.68 of the County Code, Emergency Procedures and Organization. Additionally, this proclamation will serve to qualify Monterey County for State or Federal funding if those mechanisms are approved by the Governor and President, respectively.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The response and recovery efforts of the foregoing conditions affecting public infrastructure in Monterey County include Sheriff’s Office, Public Works, and Housing and Community Development.
FINANCING:
This proclamation of local emergency will not impact the General Fund, however, could benefit the County if Public Assistance is approved by the State or Federal governments.
