a. Approve and authorize the Director or designee of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley to provide home-delivered meals and health education to seniors in the Salinas, North County and South Monterey County regions, for the period of January 7, 2025 through June 30, 2026, in the amount of $102,298; and
b. Authorize the Director or designee of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($10,230) of the amended contract amount, do not significantly change the scope of work, and do not exceed the maximum aggregate amount of $112,528.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director or designee of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with Meals on Wheels of the Salinas Valley to provide home-delivered meals and health education to seniors in the Salinas, North County and South Monterey County regions, for the period of January 7, 2025 through June 30, 2026, in the amount of $102,298; and
b. SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
This agreement provides one-time funding from the State of California, Department of Aging, through the Modernizing Older Californians Act to support existing Senior Nutrition Programs under the Older Americans Act (OAA). The funding will enhance home-delivered meals for temporarily or permanently homebound older adults and provide nutrition education for seniors in Monterey County.
