Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute amendment No. 4 to the agreement (A-12743) with Thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation for elevator maintenance and repair services at NMC, extending the agreement for an additional one (1) year period (January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025) for a revised full agreement term of January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2025, and no change to the total agreement amount not to exceed $1,356,062.00.

It is recommended the Board of Supervisors:
Authorize the Chief Executive Officer for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) or his designee to execute amendment No. 4 to the agreement (A-12743) with Thyssenkrupp Elevator Corporation for elevator maintenance and repair services at NMC, extending the agreement for an additional one (1) year period (January 1, 2025 through December 31, 2025) for a revised full agreement term of January 1, 2015 through December 31, 2025, and no change to the total agreement amount not to exceed $1,356,062.00.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
NMC utilizes ThyssenKrupp for inspection, maintenance, and repair services on its elevators and dumbwaiters. Elevator equipment is highly specialized in nature, and elevators are essential to the operation of the hospital for patient and staff safety. Elevators are required to be inspected on a periodic basis as dictated by the State of California’s Department of Industrial Relations, Division of Occupational Safety and Health. The Joint Commission (TJC) audits maintenance and repair of elevators. Inspections are part of the preventive maintenance program established by NMC and the records for these inspections must be maintained in order to be reviewed by state inspectors before receiving the proper permits.
