RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health or Assistant Director of Health to execute a no-extension Amendment No. 2 to Mental Health Services Agreement A-12729 with The Village Project, Inc. for the provision of mental health outreach, engagement and counseling services in the increased amount of $519,493 for Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-16, for a new total Agreement amount not to exceed $875,737 for FY 2014-15 through FY 2015-16.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

Since Fiscal Year 2008-09, the Monterey County Health Department, Behavioral Health Bureau, has contracted with The Village Project, Inc. for the provision of mental health outreach and counseling services for Monterey County African-Americans and other unserved/underserved racial and ethnic group members and their families. The Village Project, Inc. works in collaboration with other community based organizations providing mental health services to ensure that services are culturally competent. Referrals are made through the community, faith based organizations, schools, and Behavioral Health Bureau's Forensic Team.

This Amendment No. 2 increases the Fiscal Year (FY) 2015-16 Agreement by $149,001 to assure sustainability of services, for a revised total Agreement amount not to exceed $875,737 for FY 2014-15 through FY 2015-16.
