Title: a. Consider authorizing the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute the First Amendment to Professional Medical Services Agreement with Ventana Faculty Medical Associates of Monterey County to provide Family Medicine Services at NMC extending the term of the Agreement January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2015 and adding $2,055,000 to the extended period, for a revised total amount not to exceed $4,110,000 in the aggregate (for the period January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2015); and b. Authorize the Purchasing Manager for NMC to sign up to three (3) amendments to this agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% of the original contract amount, and do not significantly change the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a) Authorize the Purchasing Manager for Natividad Medical Center (NMC) to execute the First Amendment to Professional Medical Services Agreement with Ventana Faculty Medical Associates of Monterey County to provide Family Medicine Services at NMC extending the term of the Agreement January 1, 2014 to December 31, 2015 and adding $2,055,000 to the extended period, for a revised total amount not to exceed $4,110,000 in the aggregate (for the period January 1, 2012 to December 31, 2015); and
b) Authorize the Purchasing Manager for NMC to sign up to three (3) amendments to this agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% of the original contract amount, and do not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:

NMC requires up to three full time physicians from the Ventana group to provide physician services in Family Medicine that include inpatient rounding and call coverage; the supervising Residents in the Family Practice Residency Program; and in the Health Department clinic and Natividad Immunology Division Outpatient (NIDO) clinic.
