RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve Amendment No. 3 to Agreement No. A-11983 with Urban Park Concessionaires, dba Monterey Lakes Recreation Company (CalParks), to continue to provide lake resort management services and extend the expiration date from October 31, 2017 for one (1) additional year through October 31, 2018; and
b. Authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or the Contracts/Purchasing Supervisor to execute Amendment No. 3 to Agreement No. A-11983.

SUMMARY:
The proposed Amendment No. 3 to the Agreement with Urban Park Concessionaires (commonly referred to as CalParks) extends the term for one (1) additional year. Resource Management Agency (RMA) originally requested a two (2) year term extension. After consulting with the CAO and Contracts Purchasing with recommendation from the Parks Commission, it was agreed that an RFP could be completed in one year. This Amendment No. 3 was presented to the Board of Supervisors on June 27, 2017 where questions were raised regarding impact to existing staffing levels and financial audits so the board referred this item to the Parks Committee for consideration.

On July 10, 2017, the RMA presented the proposed Amendment No. 3 to the Parks Committee requesting their support in bringing the amendment back to the Board of Supervisors and after staff presented its report the Parks Committee supported the recommendation to move Amendment No. 3 to the Board of Supervisors.
