It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer to execute on behalf of County of Monterey a Standard Agreement with ITRF Consulting in the amount of $156,000 for the period of July 2, 2013 through June 30, 2014 for the provision of telecommunications consulting and support services for the Information Technology Department.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION
ITRF Consulting has provided consulting services to the Director of Information Technology in support of the Telecommunications Division of the Information Technology Department (ITD) which includes Radio, Network, and Phone. Pursuant to the terms of a prior agreement between the parties, for the period of October 1, 2012 through July 1, 2013, the County paid ITR $97,500 for similar consulting services that formed the basis for the reorganization of ITD and the recruitment for the resultant positions created.
Due to the unique qualifications of the positions under the Telecommunications Division, the recruitment has taken longer than originally planned and, as a result, it is necessary to continue utilizing the consultant services of ITRF during fiscal year 2013-14. It is requested that the new Agreement be retroactively approved from July 2, 2013 through June 30, 2014, in the amount of $156,000. The approval of this recommended action will ensure the continued support to the Telecommunications Division of ITD in the provision of intra/interdepartmental communications, Radio support, NGEN project support, and other technical management duties necessary during the transition.
