RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors receive the Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights Advisory Commission’s (EOCRAC) Annual Report.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The purpose of the Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights Advisory Commission is to advise and make recommendations to the Board of Supervisors on matters relating to equal opportunity as part of the Equal Opportunity Plan for County of Monterey (EOP), recommend goals and time tables regarding the EOP for departments and the County, and review annually and make recommendation of the progress of departmental plans and furtherance of the EOP goals for equal opportunity.
The Commission is comprised of diverse members representing supervisorial districts, Department Heads Council, and community-based organizations. According to its bylaws, the EOCRAC is charged with submitting an annual report to the Board of Supervisors each year summarizing the Commission’s activities for the year.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The report was reviewed by the Equal Opportunity and Civil Rights Advisory Commission on September 21, 2022. County Counsel reviewed the report on October 6, 2022.
FINANCING:
There is no financial impact to receive this report.
