Title: a. Authorize the Chief Information Officer to execute Amendment No. 1 to the non-standard agreement with North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) to house radio equipment and a wall mounted cabinet, extending the term through July 31, 2030, at no cost to the County. b. RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:

a. Authorize the Chief Information Officer to execute a non-standard agreement with North County Fire Protection District (NCFPD) to house radio equipment and a wall mounted cabinet, retroactive for the term of August 1, 2025, through July 31, 2030, at no cost to the County.
b. Authorize the Chief Information Officer or his designee the option to extend the agreement up to two (2) additional five-year periods through July 31, 2040, as long as there is no cost and no significant changes to the agreement, subject to County Counsel review.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Next Generation Radio System (NGEN) is operated and maintained by the Information Technology Department (ITD), supporting roughly 40 public safety agencies through the governance of the NGEN Services Agreement. NGEN is a collective effort linking 28 public agencies within the County, including all its incorporated cities and some special districts providing consistent and protected interoperable communications for user agencies within the County. The NCFPD station site has housed NGEN radio equipment that supports system coverage in the northern portion of Monterey County since 2022.
