RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of Health or the Assistant Director of Health to execute a five (5) year Professional Services Agreement with Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System for specialty physician services in the area of infectious disease, for the term of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2021 for a total contract amount not to exceed $180,000; and
b. Authorize the Director of Health or the Assistant Director of Health to approve up to three (3) future amendments to this Agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% of the original amount ($18,000), and do not significantly change the scope of work.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Salinas Valley Memorial Healthcare System (SVMHS) and the Health Department have a long standing professional and collaborative relationship. The Health Department is responsible for tuberculosis control throughout Monterey County. SVMHS employs a California licensed physician qualified to render professional services in the area of infectious disease. To ensure access to medical services in this Specialty, approval of the recommended action will allow SVMHS's infectious disease specialist to provide treatment and consultation services pertaining to clinical treatment of patients with Latent Tuberculosis Infection...
