RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the County of Monterey Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Director of Health Services or designee to execute Amendment No. 1 to the Standard Agreement with Access Support Network, to continue to provide monitoring, prevention, testing, and linkage to and retention in care activities for the most vulnerable and underserved individuals living with or at high risk for hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection within Monterey County, extending the term through June 30, 2028, for a revised term of July 1, 2021, through June 30, 2028, and increasing the amount not to exceed by $400,416 with an amended not to exceed total of $858,836.

SUMMARY DISCUSSION:
The County of Monterey Health Department (MCHD) has been awarded continued funding from the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) to implement public health activities related to monitoring, prevention, testing, and linkage to and retention in care activities for the most vulnerable and underserved individuals living with, or at high risk for, hepatitis C virus (HCV) infection within Monterey County. HCV is transmitted through exposure to blood from an infected person, often via shared needles.
