RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors adopt a resolution to:
a. Approve an increase of appropriations and estimated revenues of $161,250 for the Great Plates Delivered and Senior Meal Program thru Operations of Emergency Services 001-1050-CAO005-8541 FY 2021-22 Adopted Budget to provide meals to Seniors Sheltering through July 9, 2021 (4/5ths vote required); and
b. Direct the Auditor-Controller to amend the FY 2021-22 Adopted Budget by increasing appropriations and estimated revenues by $161,250 in Office of Emergency Services 001-1050-CAO005-8541(4/5ths vote required).

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Area Agency on Aging has been operating two COVID-19 Senior Meal Programs: 1) The Great Plates Delivered (GPD) Program, and 2) The AAA Senior Meal Program which both ended
July 9, 2021. The Department is recommending an increase in appropriations and estimated revenues of $161,250 for the Office of Emergency Services (OES) for the last nine (9) days of the Program as it fell in the new fiscal year.

Great Plates Delivered (GPD) Program was a statewide effort launched by the Governor on
April 24, 2020 to support adults 60 years of age and older who are at high-risk from COVID-19, enabling them to shelter in place by delivering three (3) nutritious meals per day. It also provided essential economic stimulus to local businesses and w...
