Report
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Receive CARES Act Expenditure status report for the Office of the District Attorney for estimated expenditures through 30 December 2020.
SUMMARY:
The Office of the District Attorney was allocated CARES Act funds to reimburse activities related to the COVID-19 response, for both FY 2019-20 actual expenditures and FY 2020-21 estimated expenditures. As the FY 2020-21 expenditures were estimated in July 2020, subsequent changes in personnel staffing to the COVID-19 response has decreased the total estimated expenditures for CARES Act funding for the Office of the District Attorney.
DISCUSSION:
Estimated COVID-19 expenditures for FY 2020-21 have decreased since initial estimates were prepared in July 2020, decreasing necessary budgeted amounts for the remainder of the CARES Act funding period, through December 2020. Originally budgeted at $1,430,796, revised estimates have decreased to $962,285, providing an excess of approximately $468,511 that is available for re-allocation to other departmental needs.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
None.
FINANCING:
Decreases in estimated CARES Act fund utilization has created an estimated excess of $468,511 in these funds, available to be re-allocated to other departments.
