Report
RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Finance & Administration Committee:

Recommend that the Monterey County Water Resources Agency Board of Directors:
a. Approve Amendment No. 2 to Agreement for Services with DRS Marine Inc. (DRS Marine), to increase the dollar amount by $150,000 for a total contract amount not-to-exceed $650,000; to provide underwater inspection, maintenance and repair services of Agency facilities; and
b. Authorize the General Manager to execute the amendment.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The purpose of Amendment No. 2 is to allow DRS Marine to continue to provide underwater inspection, maintenance and repair services. Due to unexpected higher expenditures for the recent actuator replacement project completed at Nacimiento Dam, insufficient funds are available for DRS Marine to provide diving services for the San Antonio Dam bulkhead gate replacement project.

The replacement of the bulkhead gate is part of the suite of planned maintenance repairs and improvements of the low-level outlet structure at San Antonio Dam that need to occur ahead of the planned spillway replacement mandated by the California Department of Water Resources Division of Safety of Dams. The estimated DRS Marine costs for the bulkhead gate replacement project is approximately $150,000. The costs incurred for this project are reimbursable by the State-funded CA SB 104 Grant.
