RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors approve the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the Monterey County Registered Nurses’ Association Unit S for the period January 1, 2016 through January 31, 2017.
SUMMARY / DISCUSSION:
On February 16, 2016, the Monterey County Registered Nurses’ Association Unit S ratified a MOU with the County of Monterey. The MOU was considered and approved by the Board of Supervisors on February 23, 2016 in closed session; and is presented for formal approval action today.
The Monterey County Registered Nurses’ Association Unit S MOU provides for changes to wages and benefits as presented.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Monterey County Registered Nurses’ Association Unit S members and staff contributed to the development of the MOU as presented.
FINANCING:
The increased annualized ongoing cost for the MCRNA agreement is $3,292,541. NMC states that they will absorb their $2,885,579 share of the annualized cost in their budget with no general fund impact. The Health Department states that they will need subsidy of general fund contribution to assist in covering their $436,962 share of annualized cost without impacting existing services.
