Title: a. RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer to sign an Agreement with Central Coast HIV/AIDS Services, in an amount not to exceed $205,000, to provide education, outreach and testing services in relation to HIV/AIDS, STDs, and Hepatitis C for individuals and communities at high risk for acquiring and transmitting these diseases, for the period of July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2017; and
b. Authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer to approve three future amendments up to ten percent (10%) of the annual amount, which does not significantly alter the scope of services or result in an increase to net county cost.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The Monterey County Health Department (MCHD) and Central Coast HIV/AIDS Services (CCHAS, formerly John XXIII AIDS Ministry), have had a long standing professional, collaborative relationship that both parties wish to continue. CCHAS provides HIV education, outreach and testing services at no charge for individuals and communities at high risk for acquiring and transmitting HIV and Hepatitis C. Services provided by CCHAS also include linkage to care for newly infected HIV positive individuals, referrals to care and supportive services for those with an existing HIV or AIDS diagnosis and partner notification services.
