RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Capital Improvement Committee receive a quarterly report from Natividad Medical Center on Job Order Contracting.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On November 2, 2017, the Board of Supervisors awarded two one-year Job Order Contracts (JOC): NMC 2017-01 to Ausonio Incorporated, NMC 2017-02 to Staples Construction Company, Inc.
Exhibit A provides the status of JOC projects for the quarterly reporting, as well as other required reporting data including: contractor, number of contractor evaluations completed, and 50% Local Employment compliance information for the projects. Exhibit B provides required contractor evaluations for completed JOC projects.
Projects implemented through the JOC Program include approved projects over $100,000 listed in Natividad’s Capital Improvement Plan (CIP); smaller maintenance and repair projects under $100,000 that are not specifically listed in the CIP but funded through established Natividad’s operational expense budget.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
Natividad Medical Center coordinated the preparation of JOCs with Contracts/Purchasing, and Auditor-Controller.
FINANCING:
The funds for these projects are in approved capital from FY2018 or within NMC’s operational expense budgets. A five percent (5%) License Fee for utilization of the JOC program is also payable upon the issuance of a Job Order to the Gordian Group.
