RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Receive the presentation of the Monterey County Mental Health Commission's Annual Report Covering the Period of January through June 2012 from Commission Chairperson Virdette Brumm.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Pursuant to the California Welfare and Institutions Code Section 5604 and Monterey County Board of Supervisors Resolution Nos. 80-12 and 86-76, the Monterey County Mental Health Commission produces an Annual Report that reviews and evaluates the community's mental health needs and the overall performance of public mental health system in Monterey County. In order to align the Commission's Annual Report with the Fiscal Year, this Report covers the period of January through June 2012. Subsequent reports will cover the fiscal year period, i.e. July through June.
The Mental Health Commission's goals and recommendations are referenced in the Annual Report and are included in the "Summary of Recommendations Mental Health Commission Continuous Quality Improvement Process Report, March 31, 2011.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Mental Health Commission received reports from other county departments as well as mental health agencies and community members who attended Mental Health Commission meetings.
FINANCING:
There is no impact to the Monterey County budget by receiving this Annual Report.
