RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
Approve and authorize the Contracts/Purchasing Officer or Contracts/Purchasing Supervisor to execute Amendment #1 to the agreement (dated: June, 1, 2019) for Food & Beverage Services for WeatherTech Raceway Laguna Seca, Cruisin Caf? with A-Train's BBQ, extending the agreement for an additional three (3) year period (January 1, 2020 through December 31, 2022) for a revised full agreement term of June 1, 2019 through December 31, 2022.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Approval of the recommendation will ensure that the County can maintain a continuous and reliable food service option within the raceway facility in support of the 2020, 2021 and 2022 race seasons and track rental program. As part of both the spectators and participants experience while visiting the facility it is critical that the County be in a positive position to provide the appropriate food vendors in order to ensure that there's ample food and beverage opportunities to support each individual and unique event. The recommended three (3) year term placement of the proposed vendor allows for stabilization for the facility and our guests. The proposed vendor has met every requirement put forth to them this past season, and county staff is confident that the vendor will continue to improve on their performance after having one (1) years' worth of experience at the facility.
