RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Capital Improvement Committee:
a. Receive a report on the Behavioral Health Alisal (East Salinas) Integrated Clinic, Capital Improvement Plan Project 1701for 331 North Sanborn; and
b. Support the Health Department's Request to make this a high-priority project for recommended funding to the Budget Committee; and
c. Support the Health Department's request to implement and manage the project with support from the Public Works, Facilities, and Parks Department if funding is approved.

SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
The project is for the construction of a new clinic at 331 North Sanborn Road in Salinas. The primary goal of this project is to address the unmet needs for an integrated behavioral health/primary care clinic for the Alisal community. The location of this clinic will remove or ease transportation as a barrier to services and allow the Health Department (Department) and its bureaus to engage the public, particularly our Spanish speaking Latinx residents by meeting them where they are and thereby strengthen its relationship with the community. More importantly, the clinic will allow the Department to deliver comprehensive services that will help improve the health outcomes of this community.
