RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Accept the Annual Progress Report for the 2010 General Plan implementation (Exhibit 1) pursuant to Government Code Section 65400;
b. Accept the Annual Progress Report for the 2009-2014 Housing Element implementation (Exhibit 2) to comply with the State Department of Housing and Community Development requirements; and
c. Authorize the Planning Director to submit the progress reports as required.
SUMMARY:
Government Code Section 65400 (a)(2) requires local agencies to prepare and submit to the Board of Supervisors, State Office of Planning and Research (OPR), and the State Department of Housing and Community Development (HCD) annual progress reports on the General Plan and current Housing Element. Progress reports must conform to specific content requirements and be submitted to OPR and HCD in April of each year. Resource Management Agency - Planning (RMA) is responsible for preparing the Annual Progress Report for the County’s 2010 General Plan Implementation (GPI). The County’s Housing Office, with assistance from the RMA, is responsible for preparing the Annual Progress Report for the 2009-2014 Housing Element Implementation (HEI).
