RECOMMENDATIONS:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors adopt a Resolution:
a. Accepting the Certificate of Completion for construction of the Jail Restroom Renovation-1410 Natividad Rd, Project No. 8546, Bid Package No. 10345, performed by Tombleson, Inc.; and
b. Authorizing the Director of Public Works to execute and record the Notice of Completion for the Jail Restroom Renovation-1410 Natividad Rd, Project No. 8546, Bid Package No. 10345, performed by Tombleson, Inc.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
On May 1, 2012, the Board of Supervisors awarded a contract to Tombleson, Inc., for construction of the Jail Restroom Renovation-1410 Natividad Rd, Project No. 8546, Bid Package No. 10345, (Project) in the total amount of $61,875 at the Adult Detention Facility. In June 2012, construction began to install new floor, wall and ceiling finishes, repair or replacement of stainless steel access covers, selective demolition of masonry, and related tasks. The County approved multiple changes in the contract work, mostly to correct for water damage and to address high moisture content in the existing subfloor. On September 25, 2012, the Board approved Change Order No. 03 to Agreement No. A-12209 with Tombleson for a total contract value of $72,161. The contract is now complete in all respects in accordance with the Plans and Special Provisions. The work is ready to be accepted by the Board.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT:
The Sheriff’s office concurs with the recommendation.
