a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with World of Work, Inc. (WOWI) for $23,700.00 for an on-line subscription to provide vocational career assessments and training, for the period of March 9, 2021 through June 30, 2023 with nonstandard liability provisions and modifications to the County's standard agreement; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($2,370) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve and authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign an agreement with World of Work, Inc. (WOWI) for $23,700.00 for an on-line subscription to provide vocational career assessments and training, for the period of March 9, 2021 through June 30, 2023 with nonstandard liability provisions and modifications to the County's standard agreement; and
b. Authorize the Director of the Department of Social Services to sign up to three (3) amendments to this agreement where the total amendments do not exceed 10% ($2,370) of the original contract amount and do not significantly change the scope of work.
SUMMARY/DISCUSSION:
Assessment is a mandatory Welfare-to-Work (WTW) activity authorized under the Manual of Policies and Procedures (MPP) Sections 42-711.55 through 42-711.558. WTW assessment services are administered to establish a WTW plan with CalWORKs customers to provide career guidance and planning and to determine the best course of activities to assist customers in removing barriers to education and/or employment that lead to self-sufficiency.
