Approve updates to Board Policy G-122, Legislative Committee Roles and Responsibilities

RECOMMENDATION:
It is recommended that the Board of Supervisors:
a. Approve the updates made to the Legislative Committee Policies, Board Policy Number G-122 as recommended by the Legislative Committee; and
b. Provide other direction to staff as necessary.
SUMMARY:
Every several years, committee policies are updated. This year, minor changes were made to the Legislative Committee policies. The changes that were made make it clear that the Legislative Committee recommends legislative priorities to the Board of Supervisors. These changes were recommended for approval at the September 14, 2026 Legislative Committee meeting.
DISCUSSION:
Slight modifications were made to the Legislative Committee policies to clarify that the Legislative Committee recommends certain legislative priorities to the Board of Supervisors, rather than direct the Board of Supervisors.
OTHER AGENCY INVOLVEMENT/COMMITTEE ACTIONS:
The Legislative Committee evaluated and voted to recommend the updates to the Legislative Committee policies.
FINANCING:
There is no fiscal impact.
